From a young age, I have been surrounded by and deeply invested in music as an art form, where, specifically, the hip-hop movement has taken a dominant part in shaping my identity. Throughout my childhood, I participated in hip-hop-affiliated activities such as parkour and deejaying, spending plenty of time in skateparks and listening to many hip-hop artists.

Taking up Beatbox, an oft-forgotten hip-hop element, it soon spiralled into a deep passion for musical storytelling through its seemingly endless array of sounds to learn within its community. Through my years of learning Beatbox, I came to the realisation that Beatbox is a language to which this idea would go on to become the premise for my dissertation at university.

Beatbox has taken me on many journeys around the UK and Europe. Some of my biggest highlights include the two-time "Solo Beatbox Vice-Champion” and “Tag-Team Beatbox Vice-Champion” at the official Scottish Beatbox Championships. I often travel around the UK for shows with other beatboxers, where we encourage all age demographics to come into the highly inclusive craft and express themselves on both the live and digital stage. Beatbox is a beautiful language to learn; it is very fun to practice and is currently used by therapists in collaboration with beatboxers worldwide for speech therapy and to improve mental well-being.
